2026 Aledo Youth Cheer
When does the season begin and end?
The season typically begins in mid-August, with the first practices starting around that time. Games usually begin in late August, and the season wraps up with the Super Bowl in mid-November, before Thanksgiving.
Cheerleaders are encouraged to attend all practices to support team safety, performance, and consistency. Most teams practice twice per week. Practice attendance may affect participation in certain game day performances. Participation in skill-based elements such as stunts, tumbling, and more advanced routines will be at the coach’s discretion.
What is the registration fee for cheer and what does it include?
The registration fee for 2026 cheer is $110, which includes participation in the program and a 2026 Aledo Youth Cheer t-shirt.
Registration is open from April 1 to April 30. A late registration period will be available from May 1 to May 15, and an additional $110 late fee will apply during that time.
What additional items will my child need for cheer and what is the cost?
Cheerleaders are required to have the 2025 style uniform, which costs $160.
In addition to the uniform, cheerleaders will also need:
-
Black Aledo megaphone
Pom poms
-
Black bloomers
-
White cheer shoes
-
White no-show socks
The megaphone, bloomers, pom poms, and additional cheer merch will be available for purchase at uniform fittings. AYFCA will also offer loaner pom poms for the 2026 season with a deposit, and new or used pom poms may also be available for purchase at fittings.
Any participant who does not already have a 2025 style uniform will need to attend one of the scheduled custom fitting dates to be sized by a Varsity representative. Uniform fittings are currently scheduled for:
-
Wednesday, May 13
-
Thursday, May 28
Please watch your email for additional details from AYFCA regarding fitting times and location.
Some teams may also choose to purchase optional team items, such as matching bows. In addition, there may be optional season spirit events such as Pink Out or Homecoming that could involve extra costs. These items and events are not required for participation and are managed at the team or coach level.
Is it possible to have my football player and cheerleader siblings assigned to the same team even though they aren’t the same age?
AYFCA allows 5U and 6U Flag cheerleaders to cheer with a cheer or football sibling's team two levels up (5U to 7U, 6U to 8U). However, any 4 year old must stay in either the 5U or 6U flag division.
Cheer athletes in 7U can cheer up to any level with a cheer or tackle football sibling’s team.
You must register your cheerleader in their appropriate age division during registration, and any sibling pairings or age division realignments for cheerleaders will be handled on the back end.
All cheerleaders must register in the age division they are eligible for based on their age as of 9/1. Families requesting a sibling alignment should complete the sibling request section during registration. Any approved division realignments will be handled separately after registration.
Cheer registration for the 2026 season will require you to upload the required documents in image or PDF format. Please have all documents ready before you begin registration, as you will not be able to go back and upload or update documents after submitting your registration.
